John S. McGarvey’s accomplishments in the commercial and residential development and construction industry are legendary. In 1976, he founded an electrical contracting company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was soon fulfilling federal, state, and municipal contracts valued at up to $10 million. By 1984, McGarvey had formed a construction company specializing in the construction of corporate parks and corporate and industrial buildings. The company successfully completed approximately 4 million square feet of finished product. That success served as the genesis of McGarvey Development. Formed in 1985, McGarvey Development is the development arm of the McGarvey Companies, a vertically integrated company providing a full range of development and construction services to both commercial and residential customers.In 1997, McGarvey relocated to Naples, Florida, obtained his general contractor’s license, and proceeded to make his mark in the Southwest Florida commercial development and construction industry. For the past 18 years, the company has repeatedly demonstrated its expertise in the development and construction of office space of all types, retail space, industrial flex and warehouse buildings, and substantial corporate parks and office buildings, including the 300,000 square-foot Riverview Corporate Park in Bonita Springs, the 450,000 square-foot Gateway Corporate Park in Fort Myers, the 160,000 square-foot Gartner Building in Fort Myers, and the 85,000 square-foot Comcast Building in Fort Myers.

In 2001, McGarvey entered Southwest Florida’s lucrative luxury residential construction arena with the formation of McGarvey Custom Homes. McGarvey Custom Homes has completed the design and construction of well over 200 luxury residences, including magnificent custom estate homes and elegant single-family villa residences. McGarvey is currently building its luxury residential product in Southwest Florida’s most prestigious communities, including Talis Park, Quail West, and Naples Club Estates.

She has been with the company for seven years and holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Miami as well as an Associate’s Degree in interior design from Southwest Florida College. Jennifer has served as Project Manager in the development and construction of McGarvey’s La Caille luxury villa neighborhood at Quail West and in the construction of model and end-sure estate residences at Quail West. Numerous projects completed under her supervision have been named recipients of building industry awards, including the 2010 Lee Building Industry Association Parade of Homes Award for the Domani villa model in La Caille, the 2012 Collier Building Industry Association Sand Dollar Award in the Single Family Homes $2,500,000-$2,999,999 category for the La Caille Florencia model, and the 2013 Lee Building Industry Association Parade of Homes Award for the Avarone model in La Caille. Jennifer is a Licensed State of Florida General Contractor.

His extensive background in the commercial and institutional construction arena includes project team development, hiring, and management; project surveying and layout; direct supervision of all aspects of infrastructure and new building construction; and job-site safety compliance. Berry’s management and supervisory expertise encompasses all phases and processes of commercial and institutional construction, including site preparation, concrete, tilt-wall, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and tenant fit-out, as well as the hiring and management of field supervisors and project managers.Berry’s portfolio of completed specialty projects includes multi-story office buildings, single-story flex warehouses, medical research, diagnostic and treatment facilities, and charter schools located in New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Florida. His leadership role in the development of the Riverview Corporate Center in Fort Myers, Florida was acknowledged by TCA.

He has served McGarvey Development Company as a Senior Project Manager since August 15, 2005. Prior to joining McGarvey, Childers worked as the Reconstruction Superintendent for the 1998 restoration of the West Baden Springs Hotel that was named the #1 Hotel in Indiana by the U.S. News and World Report and other publications. Childers was also responsible for the completion of McGarvey’s Casa Vittoria estate model residence at Quail West that was the Featured Model during the 2013 CBIA and LBIA Joint Single-Site Parade of Homes. He is a member of the Board of Directors at First Assembly of God in Fort Myers.

His field experience and organizational skills have been acknowledged through the receipt of numerous awards in the luxury custom homes arena. Notable project work undertaken by Cliff includes luxury custom homes in many of Southwest Florida’s most prestigious communities, completion of both a 132,000 square feet, four-story Class-A office building and a 125,000 square feet, three-story Class-A office facility for Gartner, Inc., and numerous tenant fit-out and renovation projects. Cliff’s educational background includes completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management at Florida International University.
